I once had a nice healthy lawn in the back yard, and I kept it watered, mowed and fertilized. When the draught came I was an obedient citizen and let the watering slow down and eventually stop. The result is that most of the lawn died and became just a muddy piece of ground.

After many months of trying to decide what to do, I finally decided to have artificial turf put in.

The process of installing the artificial turf

Digging up the soil to be removed

Digging up what is left of the grass to be removed

Removing the soil down 3 inches

Adding the base material

Compacting the base material

Installing the grass

Prower broom to sweep the grass

Spreading the pellets that cause the grass to stand up
